Lokve (Italianized: Loqua) is a village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Nova Gorica.[1] It is located in the Trnovo Forest, above the Vipava Valley in the Goriška region of the Slovene Littoral. It is a renowned tourist center, serving mostly as a summer resort for the inhabitants of the towns of Nova Gorica and Gorizia (Italy).
Notable natives include the Slovene collaborationist general Leon Rupnik and the writer Venceslav Winkler.
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua and belongs to the Diocese of Koper.[2]
